In everyday life, we all need to speak, communicate and keep ourselves informed. Words we hear and understand make a language. Signs and gestures «illustrate» the words and are another kind of language we need to understand.

The French language has more than 85,000 words but, depending on our age and way of life, we generally only use 2,000 or 3,000 of them.
